Celebrates 75 years in business by winning 'Best of Nation' and 'Best in Show' awards at the San Francisco International Wine Competition

AUCKLAND, 17 July 2013 - In a clear demonstration of the depth and quality of the New Zealand wine industry, Mazuran's Vineyards has once again won an array of prestigious awards at the San Francisco International Wine Competition - America's largest international wine competition.

Best of Nation: With entries from Matua Valley, Stoneleigh, Villa Maria, and over 50 other wineries, Mazuran's Vineyards won the 'Best of Nation Award' for New Zealand.

Best Tawny - Best in Show Fortified and Best Port: Specialising in the production of fortified wines, Mazuran's Vineyards truly demonstrated the quality of its wines on a global scale, by taking out both of these awards with its 1962 Old Tawny Port and 1973 Vintage Port, respectively. This year, there were entrants from wineries in 30 different countries.

Rado Hladilo, Chief Winemaker and previous winner of 'Winemaker of the Year' Award is thrilled with the results: "I'm proud of our winery, now into its third-generation of family operation, and the 75-year heritage we have of successfully representing the New Zealand Wine Industry to the rest of the world.
